Welcome.
YOURS TRULY

I'm Joel Mo Jiaming. Born in 1986, 22nd July. Speaking about birthdays when I say 'it's alright' or 'anything's fine', don't take my word for it. What I really meant was 'get me ANYTHING nice and expensive, it's FINE if you get broke, I don't really care. Hah. Kidding duh.
Occupation? Defending Singapore from the scum of the universe. I rule the battlefield with my trusty telephone! NO COMMS NO WAR! RAHH
I believe in JESUS, the one true saviour. No witty comment needed here, cuz just mentioning his name is already oh so cool.
BADASS SHOWOFF
I don't really have anything to showcase now. But don't worry this part HERE is still under construction. I promise i'll work hard and earn myself the right to wear Mabel's cool shirt. (:

I read an astonishing article on divorce.

'For the first time in history, households headed by a married couple are a minority in Britain and America. In Singapore, one in 10 marriages ends up in divorce. Men aged between 30 and 49 are most likely to divorce, and in over 60 per cent of cases, it is the woman who initiates proceedings. Curiously, the bride's age at the time of marriage is the most reliable indicator of marital longevity: the older she is, the more likely it is to last.'

Now that's some really screwed up statistics. It wasn't long ago that there was a strong social stigma attached to being divorce, now it is the norm. What happened in the past 20 years?

We have a pretty screwed up society, all our values are screwed up and kids are growing up the wrong way.

Everyone's just so bought in by the idea of consumerism, wanting more and more and causing proverty all over the world. Proverty is not the decrease of one's possession but the increase of one's greed. One can never be satisfied with his material possessions, we must always have MORE BIGGER FASTER stuff.

I was reading a magazine and there was an advertisment pitch for a 103 inch full HD plasma screen TV. 103 inch!! 103 inches = 2.6162 meters!! What the heck. Even my granddad with eyesight problems have no complains with watching programmes on his 24 inch tv. 103 inch tv! What a joke.

We also have an anti-social definition of happiness, which encourages people to cocoon. Why go out when I can play computer games all day? Why hang out with friends when I can be in the office earning more money? Why meet up when we can chat on msn?

We are so fixed on being number one, we fail to see the beautiful things in everyday life. 'We are number one! We are the champions!' But what's wrong with being number 2? Honestly, what's wrong? Not getting an A on your report card, what's wrong with that? Logically speaking, getting a 51 out of 100 marks on your paper means that your competence of the subject is above average isn't that right? Why are people branded as stupid then for getting Cs?

I've no idea how to end this rambling. So I shall post a verse, and go eat dinner.

'Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.' Romans 12:2

Finally BECK the manga has ended. It was really an awesome read.
I remember back in the days, it was BECK that inspired us (Lionel, Shawn, etc) to pursue music with passion and it has always been an inspiration to me.

I can say if I never came across BECK, I wouldn't be playing drums by now, I would've just gave up or something. Haha

But too bad music can't be heard through read manga, I really would like to hear the ending song that they played in the finale.

"So quiet and mysterious. They're already capturing the hearts of the audience."
"The guitar sounds as if it's crying out. Such a melancholic feeling to it."

Ahhh.. I really want to hear the song. I think the closest I can imagine it to be is this song.

Fricking awesome song. I would like to jam it someday. Hmmm...

The final guitar that Koyuki used was a Fender Mustang with the Addidas sign. I thought it was totally fabricated, like how could a Fender guitar has 3 stripes right? But I was wrong. That's the thing I like about BECK, the instruments used in the manga really exist.

I really want to buy this guitar now. But I think it'll cost a bomb!

A tribute to the manga that influenced my life.

The world would be a sad place without music.
