Occupation? Defending Singapore from the scum of the universe. I rule the battlefield with my trusty telephone! NO COMMS NO WAR! RAHH
I believe in JESUS, the one true saviour. No witty comment needed here, cuz just mentioning his name is already oh so cool.

'You really had no idea what Jesus was like, do you?'

The question hit me like a brick to my head.

My first reflex answer was 'Of course I do, I've repeatedly read all 4 books of the gospel about His life on Earth.' But deep inside I knew, I don't really know Him.

I was to be the plant with no roots, destined to wither when the sun rises. The foolish man who built his house on sand, holding on until the rain and wind destroys the house. Or the weeds amongst the wheat, to be burned in the fire when the harvest time comes.

'What would Jesus do?'

Like people will know what He would do based on 100 over pages of His life in the Bible. I bet the people in His time never ever knew what He was going to do next. Raise people from the dead? Turn water into wine? Feeding 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes? Needlessly dying on the cross for ALL of our sins?! So seriously, how would one know what Jesus would do in any given situation?

I've been trained from young to follow the world's system. I do all these to maintain a false sense of control. But seriously who am I kidding? Going to church and meeting people's expectations, and manipulating people to meet mine. No wonder I get so tired after going to church. No wonder I reminisce the old days, when there were less people and it was easier to do such things. I'm tired of playing church.

I was thinking of all these things in the Sisterhood of Mary, and it all boils down to one thing.

Love.

John 3:16. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The question is do I truly believe it? One can coerce oneself into thinking that he believes it. Jesus in his infinite wisdom knew such a thing could and would definitely happen. It's all over his teachings. The wise and foolish builder. The parable of the sower. The parable of the weeds. The parable of the ten virgins.

A new command I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35

One can choose too put his knowledge into action, or to take his knowledge for action.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Cor 13:1-3

The one most important thing I took away from Sisterhood is love. Truly knowing that Jesus really loves me, and to try to love Him back in my own way. Love cannot be taught in Sunday School, or in a sermon. It has to be experienced.

I must admit, I don't have enough faith. Most questions I don't have answers to. And most people whose motives are not yet clear to me. But faith is not the important thing. Don't stone me for it, it came from the mouth of Jesus.

"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain. 'Move from here to there' and it will move." Matt 17:20

Faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is love.

Faith will grow, hope will be there in times of darkness, but it all begins with love.

Knowing Jesus loves me, loving Him back and loving people as He would want me to in my own special way. That's living the christian life.

I thank God for everything.
I <3 you.
